Elderly Australian couple unwittingly smuggles $6.7M of meth, police say
Fri Oct 25, 2013
Everyone but me seems to know what tipped off the couple's suspicions; could someone explain? How many times have you been 'suspicious of your WON THIS FOR FREE luggage"? Was it extra heavy when empty or did it bulge or make rattling noises when shook? I'm surprised that the drugs didn't show up on …
Poverty in America: Millions of families too broke for bank accounts
Mon Apr 22, 2013
Maybe if the subject in the photo were not a black, recovering addict then more of the posts here would've stayed on topic - i.e., about people who are, or think they are too poor to have bank accounts and not turned into politcal sounding board...also not understanding the disdain America seems to …
Local official is 6th arrest in Georgia baby's shooting
Fri Mar 29, 2013
As a black person, I'm disgusted when one of my own does something despicable and deplorable like this. I for ONCE am agreeing on the question as to why Al Sharpton (forget Jesse Jackson) has not spoken out on this, but truth is, I know neither of them can be at the forefront of every issue. But its …
Cops: Tourist is dragged into alley and raped in midtown Manhattan
Wed Feb 13, 2013
I've heard stories about very unscrupulous cabbies, who participate in the trafficking of women and girls forced into prostituion. I only added that in semi agreement with those who say the cabbie could've had something to do with this. The second cabbie may have tried to talk her into going to the …
Voodoo priestess: Curse didn't cause Superdome blackout
Mon Feb 4, 2013
So sad (and shocked) to read the writer still referring to the displaced victims of Superstorm Katrina as refugees.
Married at 11, a mom by 14: Growing up and raising a family at the same time
Fri Jan 25, 2013
Yes, it seems as if the poor in India prioritize the same as in America. The cell phone is a necessity, the alcohol we know is not. So sad to see that at 17 he is bored with life and drinking too much already.
Father questioned in 5-year-old's mysterious abduction
Thu Jan 17, 2013
This story has been strange from the beginning. It would seem that someone at the school would be familiar with the girl's mother, even if she usually arrived in her hijab. And it's surprising that the girl didn't seem hesitant at all because hijab or none, she would know who her mother is. Yes it's …
Lone survivor in Connecticut classroom: 'Mommy, I'm OK, but all of my friends are dead'
Mon Dec 17, 2012
God didn't cause those children to die, the crazed gunman killed them. God didn't spare this little girl, but her intelligence allowed her to save herself. I am a believer in God. I don't believe that this was part of His plan for any of the victims' lives and trying to figure out what place divine …
'I got the wrong Courtney': Man picks up incorrect girl from school
Wed Nov 14, 2012
This is not in the least bit funny to me. The parents of the girl to be picked up were completely negligent for first having someone ('anyone') pick up their child, someone who the child is not completely familiar with. The daughter should have been told the person's first and last name of the perso …
Deadliest zone: Staten Island reels from devastation; bodies of boys ripped from mom's arms found
Thu Nov 1, 2012
I agree the mother must've had what she thought was a good reason, undoubtedly her fear got the best of her at that moment when she decided to flee and I find it hard to believe that anyone would deliberately ignore her.
